I’m delighted to announce that the Polish foreign rights for Just Keep Climbing have been sold to a publishing house in Poland. As most of you know, Just Keep Climbing features the stories of eight individuals who have overcome incredible odds to conquer their challenges. Watch for the book in Polish coming soon. In the meantime, the English version is available here:
Karen Meades and I did an interview on the Audio Signals Podcast a while back. It has recently been posted. See below.
Karen didn’t just challenge herself; she ran straight into the most extreme environments on the planet. From crossing the Amazon jungle, to enduring the brutal Sahara Desert, to racing through Antarctica, Karen has taken on ultramarathons that test not just the body, but the very essence of human resilience.
She wasn’t always an endurance athlete. In fact, she never even thought of herself as one. But a single decision—to run a local 5K—set her on a path that changed everything. Step by step, challenge by challenge, she discovered what she was truly capable of. She is the subject of my recent books, My Limitless Life: Karen Meades and you can hear her describe her adventures running across deserts and through jungles at the following links:
I have opened an online store for two of my non-fiction titles: Kilimanjaro and Beyond and Just Keep Climbing. What does that mean? It means that you can directly from me instead of the giant retailers. Your book will be delivered to your device in seconds. As a special promotion, I’m offering a 15% discount on both books. Take advantage of the offer and click on the link now!
The new year has started off with a bang. Book signings are lining up and I have a new Jake Scott mystery in the works. Jake will be on holidays this time, but he still manages to find trouble. Also, I have been guesting on a few podcasts. The next one will be recorded on January 28 from Singapore. Sadly, I don’t need to go there to record it.
Here’s one I did recently based on my book, Just Keep Climbing. The podcast goes into depth on overcoming challenges. You can check it out below. You probably have your own thoughts on overcoming challenges. If so, drop them in the comments section.
In the meantime, stay tuned for more announcements as the year goes on.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me through 2024 by buying my books, reviewing them, talking about them, or just following along. I appreciate every one of you. It has been an eventful year with the release of the third book in the Jake Scott Mystery Series, The Secret Truth, in September and My Limitless Life: Karen Meades, in December. I also released a journal as a companion to Just Keep Climbing. I’m not sure I will ever be that productive again, but I’ll be working on the next Jake Scott book with a release date of late 2025.
It has also been a year of presentations, awards, and podcast appearances. I enjoyed talking about my books and writing in front of book clubs and other audiences. Just Keep Climbing received a couple of awards and I had the opportunity to guest on a few podcasts. More are already booked for 2025.
I owe all of this to the readers who buy my books because without you I wouldn’t be doing this. While I enjoy writing, I receive extra motivation from all of you, so thank you for that. I hope you have the merriest of Christmases and that your 2025 is peaceful, joyful, and prosperous (which can be defined in many ways}.
Here’s something special. It’s an opportunity to load your Kindle with free books. All it costs is a sign-up to the newsletter of the author whose book you are downloading. Check it out.
For those in the Ottawa, Canada area, you’re invited to a launch of My Limitless Life at Carmelito Cafe on December 1 from 5 – 7 PM. My Limitless Life chronicles the story of Karen Meades, the third Canadian woman to conquer the 4 Deserts Ultramarathon Series. An ultramarathon is 155 miles or 250 kilometers of running (slogging) in the world’s harshest conditions in a week and Karen will be on hand to tell her story and sign copies.
I’m proud to have written this book and even prouder to say it’s full of adventure, humor, drama, and most of all, inspiration.
If you can’t make it, pick up your copy at the link.
Just Keep Climbing recently climbed onto the Shortlist for non fiction in the Page Turner Awards. I’m a numbers guy, so I’ll tell you that there were initially over 2000 entries for the awards and the non fiction shortlist, of which Just keep Climbing was a part, was narrowed down to nine. Earlier in the year, the book was awarded Bronze in the Self Help Category by Reader Views Reviewers Choice Awards. I’m very proud of both and grateful to the eight people who let me write about their challenges and how they faced them.
I’m pleased to announce the release of an interview I did recently with Marco Ciappelli from ITSP Magazine Podcasts. In this interview we talk about life, writing, marketing, reviews, and share a few laughs. You can see the entire interview below.
